An overwhelming number of votes came in for the poll and Folk music seems to be in the lead so i figured why not make a top list of indie folk songs that came out in 2011. Some of these bands you may have heard and some you haven’t. If you haven’t i highly suggest you go check them out.

Since the term Folk has grown to be quite general in describing music, I’ve done my best to come up with songs that best exemplify my understanding of what folk music is. Beautiful natural music, mostly relaxing, sometimes crazy and spontaneous. Freak Folk, Anti-Folk, Americana Folk, Folk Rock, NeoFolk,  I love it all and i hope you enjoy. Thanks for voting!

Not a bad list. I’d probably stick Blind Pilot somewhere in there tho.

    • I actually haven’t really had a chance to listen to them much but now that you mention it, i’m gonna check them out more tonight. THanks
